[General] help needed with figuring out dvd drive pinouts

If you played movies through it, I'd advise against continuing the project
because you'd actually have to feed DVD-format video into the system in a
fairly specific way that doesn't lend well to swapping among movies without
some additional external control.

If it's GPS and map data, it means the system is likely accessing the disc
as a standard file system.  If you're really lucky, the system can read
FAT32 and not just the DVD file system format (ISO9660 or UDF variants).
I'm not sure what all will go into tricking the system into thinking the SSD
or HD is a DVD drive.

Can you put the DVD in a computer and see files on it?  If so, what format
does your computer's drive report for the disc?
