[General] Internet speeds

Wait a minute. I know most cable boxes don't encrypt the data, but I was
under the impression that the upstream and downstream channels used
different frequencies. I expected the cable box to be physically limited
to only transmitting on the upstream frequency and receiving on the
downstream one.

Aside from that, a potential snooper should need a hacked cable box (easy
to do) because the boxes shouldn't forward to the Ethernet jack anything
not addressed to them.

Do you know what on earth they're doing?
