Who wants to blow the dust and cobwebs off of the drinkbot there and enter
it into this contest?

Cocktail Robotics Grand Challenege

Hi global Hackerspaces,

Barbot has (sadly!) ended, and we think it would be fun to have a bona-fide
cocktail robotics competition with prizes and trophies.

So here is our proposition: if you have a previously constructed cocktail
robot, a new cocktail robot, or a robot re-purposed to dish out cocktails
we want you!

My old friend Jamie Zawinski (X Screensaver, Mozilla and Netscape
cofounder) and I are producing The Cocktail Robotics Grand Challenge next
month (September 14) at DNA Lounge in San Francisco. Our friends at
Adafruit are generously sponsoring the event.

It is a cocktail robot contest with actual cash prizes. Enter your cocktail
robot, and you can win $1000/$700/$300.

Details here: http://www.dnalounge.com/calendar/2014/09-14.html
Entry form is here: http://www.dnalounge.com/tickets/robots/contestants.html

We're hoping you'll enter and join in the alcohol-meets-engineering chaos.
We provide the booze, the space, cleanup and staffing.

Need parts? Adafruit is providing a 10% off discount code for entrants:
just enter the code DNAROBOT (good for one order).

We hope you and your hackerspaces consider this event.

Deadlines for entry are August 31, so please enter soon as spaces for
cocktail robot jockeys are also running out.

Feel free to email me if you have any further questions. We also got a
writeup on the SFist blog:
http://sfist.com/2014/07/21/dna_lounge_to_host_competition_for.php

Warm wishes,
Violet Blue

Psst: Thank you for putting up with this mass email. Use a "friend's"
(*cough*) "student ID" number to access the student discount for entry :D
