You know, I have a *stellar* background, verified by the security
clearances I've had to endure for various positions. BUT, for
non-defense related activities, I *abhor* this kind of nonsense. I did
want to volunteer until I read that. So count me out and know that,
especially for an environment where NO children can be harmed, it is
useless political correctness and it angers me GREATLY.

The team has been doing a lot of work trying to promote the FIRST organization in Alabama. As part of their effort, they are hosting a qualifier competition here in Huntsville on Saturday, January 24th and still need some volunteers. We will be hosting up to 24 teams from mostly Georgia and Alabama and those who advance will go onto the Georgia State Championship. The main volunteer positions that are open are judging positions where you get to be part of assigning some of the many awards that are given out. This is a very important task as the awards play a huge role in deciding who advances to the state competiton. Judging comprises of a judging session with the teams as well as your interaction with the teams throughout the day in the pit and during the competition. If you are interested in volunteering, please let me know and I will pass your contact information onto the event organizers. It is really fun to see the ingenuity and energy all of these teams bring to robotics!
