[General] 10' step ladder on loan

I'll bring my spray can of water-sealing varnish to apply to it tomorrow.
It's slightly toxic (there will be bad fumes for about 6 hours after I apply
it) but it's a very effective protective seal. I think it would be best to
apply it outside by the garage door, if someone can help me move it out
there I'll spray it, and we can wait and move it back in when the fumes die
down.
If there's a better plan though, of course all my conjecture is unnecessary.
