Ok I may not understand the rules but does it count if your bot explodes and blows the other bot out of the ring?
If not I'm out.

Actually it's not hard, for the LEGO bots to turn as soon as they sense black. It does require the kids to dampen their desire to go full throttle though. :)
Tyler,
It might be easier to just come by the lab. You ca look at our ring and the last set of bots that were built. If the rules are different then we may want to do LEGO exhibitions before the actual matches.

Fully autonomous? I foresee lots of robots driving themselves straight out of the ring :)

Rob,
I think that would be great! Feel free to shoot me some info on the LEGO bots (tyler.crumpton at gmail.com) like any size, weight, parts restrictions that you guys might have, and we can get that added! The more the merrier!
Cheers,
Tyler

Tyler,
That's pretty interesting. We're doing LEGO SumoBots for kids at MindGear this year. Our spring break camp went pretty well. What do you think about having a LEGO division?

Hey everyone!
Interested in robots? Today, I'm officially announcing the Makers Local 256 Sumo Robot Competition, where you build a completely autonomous robot and compete against other robots to push them out of the ring first!
The competition will take place on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00PM, so mark your calendars! That gives you about 3 months to design, build and test your robot.
Anyone is invited, so feel free to forward this information to anyone that you might think would be interested in some friendly, exciting competition.
For sign-ups, rules and videos, check out:
http://tylercrumpton.com/sumobot/
Hope to see you all there, and if there is a good turnout, we'll continue holding these types of events (possibly including battle-bots!). Let me know if you have any questions or problems, and I'll help you out the best I can.
Cheers!
Tyler Crumpton
