If that is a legit version of windows 7 on your laptop and you have a
valid key for it, you may be able to move it.

You start in safe mode.

The biggest deal is that windows will not boot even in safe mode when
a computer has AHCI enabled and windows does not have the correct
driver.

I think I have hacked in drivers before.

You could just set to compatibility mode.

The best thing you could do though is just install windows on the
desktop and migrate the rest of your data over.  Windows has no
protection from bitrot.
