Likely why Norm has experienced no problem while others have is that those dark *worn* spots drift around based on the position of the nozzle on the X Y of the bed. So if people often cut in the lower right corner, then the top left would cut better.

It’s also likely if the alignment is still a bit off this could have identical issues. While the beam is *mostly* hitting the nozzle aperture in the lower left or lower right quadrant, the beat might be fully entering the nozzle aperture in the upper left or upper right quadrant. This can be detected by putting your hand on the nozzle aperture after a long cut and you can feel the warmth of the metal from being bombarded with the unfocused Infrared beam.

Lastly, we have replacement mirrors and focusing lenses for a brand new nozzle. But they’ve not been installed yet. I think people were waiting on me to do that. I apologize for letting it slip off my radar. I may be able to come by this week and knock it out, also change the lens and mirrors.

I turned it back on but the cuts weren't as clean as they have been. I believe that it may have allowed for residue buildup on the lens. I didn't want to mess with it unless I was certain I knew what I was doing.
