Hi local makers -

I've already exchanged emails with a couple of the Maker's local people,
and dropped by the shop (when no one was there).

I (with my brother) have started another maker space in town -
antitronics. We're in the Flying Monkey arts center, colocated
with the sew brilliant stitch lounge.

I think it would be great of we could collaborate on some projects,
and here's a first opportunity - I received teh following email from
Bilal, as did a lot of other people associated with hacker/maker spaces.

I think it would be great to have him visit here, and visit both spaces,
as well as the stitch lounge.

Thoughts?

Hello all!

First, I really want you to know how excited i am to have the
opportunity to visit many of you on our* upcoming tour of the
Maker/Hacker Spaces sprouting up all over the country. The makers I've
been meeting in my travels have always left me inspired, and filled
with a desire to do something... now. The hack that I've taken upon
myself is to create a DIY documentary about what is happening, what
you do, why you do it, why it's important and how it's done. First to
get a better understanding of this creative / intelligent / fun /
productive movement. Second to encourage others to start something in
their own town. To do this The Two Hands Project will create a
documentary to inspire and, and a descriptive report / article to
inform.

The process of self actualization through project creation I see
happening at these spaces is really invaluable and may lead to new
ways of considering work and value. Now in times of economic hardship
(or perhaps especially in times of economic hardship) a questions I'd
like to discover is if it's possible to make a living doing what you
love?

So far we've collected enough money to make the trip on JetBlue's
Unlimited Jetting plan and are in the process of creating an travel
plan, so if you want to hang out let me know and we'll try out best to
make it out to see you! Couches are especially convincing! If you're
interested in helping out in any other way we're looking for novel
ways of crowd sourcing this entire trip / documentary (website help,
teeshirt design contest, publicity, funding... etc...)
