Hello Makers!

I have an opportunity for you to learn about appropriate technologies
design. To define, appropriate technology
design<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appropriate_technology> is
the use of technology to allow a community to become self-reliant; e.g.
using local resources and skills to implement and sustainably operate a
setup for basic resources and income. Some examples are
here<http://www.sifat.org/apptech.html>
.
The appropriate technologies design tour will be starting at 10am on
December 3, 2011 on-site at SIFAT <http://www.sifat.org/>'s campus at 2944
County Rd. 113, Lineville, AL
36266<http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Servants+In+Faith+And+Technology,+2944+County+Rd.+113,+Lineville,+AL+36266&hl=en&hq=Servants+In+Faith+And+Technology,+2944+County+Rd.+113,+Lineville,+AL+36266&radius=15000&t=h&z=16&vpsrc=0>
with
the local chapter of Engineers Without
Borders<http://www.uah.edu/student_life/organizations/ewb-uah/>.
Expect it to be an all day event as it is a 3 hour drive from Huntsville (we
will need to leave at 7am). If you are interested in attending please
inform Ethan/spacefelix by November 30, 2011 and if you can drive and how
many you can carry.

              - Ethan/spacefelix
