I don't know the version number or when it was manufactured.  It's not
unusual practice to use Square for donations in the shop, and any card
reader will... Well... Read a card and thus could keep info on the device
it's connected to.  What's your specific concern?  I have no incentive to
try to keep info that's useless to me, because it would be dumb to do
anything with it.
