Hello!

I would like to introduce you to Davis Galligan (e-mail:
Davis at syynlabs.com, phone: 206-226-4654) of Syyn Labs (http://syynlabs.com) in
LA. They build Rube Goldberg Machines from science, technology and art to
inspire the public, promote curiosity and be generally awesome.
For their latest project, they want to make a machine that will make
an apparent leap off of Niagra Falls. But it will instead stop itself at
the brink and then launch a near-space balloon that will return photographs
of near-space Earth. He heard about our project through a mutual friend
and would like to know how to design-build-fly a near-space balloon
photography mission.
Davis, I introduce you to some of the guys of the Makers Local 256
HSIS Team:

   - Satyam Nayak (nayaksatyam at gmail.com) - He is our photography expert
and designed and built the photography package for our flights. An example
of the photos taken is attached.
   - Bill Brown (wb8elk at aol.com) - His claim to fame is that he
invented theNear-Space BalloonSat<http://www.wb8elk.com/>back in
1987 and has been flying ever since. He developed a GPS tracker for our
flight. They are available commercially at http://www.elktronics.com/.
   - Matt Robinson (brimstone at the.narro.ws) - He is our tracking expert and
build a tracking package for our flights using a Mobile Boost cell phone
running Mologolo Solo. It tracked one of our flights at start and finish,
unfortunately it landed in a lake. :C

Our wikipage on how we did everything is here:
https://256.makerslocal.org/wiki/HSIS
Also, attached is a summary presentation of the project.
I hope this helps and good luck with your project!

              - Ethan/spacefelix
